Sound of Iona

The Sound of Iona is the name given to the stretch of water that separates the island of Iona from the Ross of Mull in the southwest of Mull (Argyll and Bute). It is a half-mile (1 km) wide at it narrowest and 3½ miles (5.5 km) in length. The strait includes several islands and rocks, and is crossed by a passenger ferry from Fionnphort to Baile Mor.
