An isolated mass of basalt rock in the Torran reef, Dubh Artach (also Dhu Heartach) lies in the Atlantic, 16 miles (26 km) southwest of the Ross of Mull. A lighthouse was erected in 1870 with some difficulty by David and Thomas Stevenson.
