The smallest of a group of small lochs in the SW of the Northmavine district in Shetland, Mina Water lies to the east of Gills Water and the south of Punds Water, 1¼ miles (2 km) northwest of Islesburgh. Mina Water drains to the east southeast into Gill Water.
