Allt a' Chaol Ghlinne is the principal headwater of the River Ruel in Central Argyll & Bute. It rises in Caol Ghleann and flows southwest for 4½ miles (7 km) collecting numerous tributary streams. The river has cut a steep gorge over much of its route.
