Troon Railway Station

A railway station in South Ayrshire, Troon (Gael: An Truthail) lies on the Ayrshire Coast Line and the Glasgow South Western Line, a quarter-mile (0.4 km) east southeast of the town centre. It is preceded by Prestwick International Airport Railway Station, 1¼ miles (2 km) to the east southeast, and followed by Barassie, 1¼ miles (2 km) north.

Troon Railway Station was opened on the Glasgow & South Western Railway in 1892 and is now operated by ScotRail and staffed part-time. It was used by 613,848 passengers per annum in 2009-10 but this number grew to 756,400 in 2016-17.
