Howford Bridge

The Howford Bridge is a two-span masonry bridge, with a centre splayed cutwater, which crosses the River Ayr in East Ayrshire. It is located ¾ mile (1.2 km) west of Catrine and 1½ miles (2.5 km) southeast of Mauchline. The bridge dates from the late 18th C. and carried the Mauchline-Auchinleck road over the river until it was replaced by the Ballochmyle Bridge in 1962. It was B-listed in 1971.
