River Glass

(Allt Grande)

A river of Easter Ross, the Glass issues from Loch Glass which lies in the shadow of Ben Wyvis to the west of the Cromarty Firth. Formerly known as the Allt Grande, it flows southeastwards past Evanton to join the Cromarty Firth 6 miles (10 km) northeast of Dingwall. As the river approaches Evanton it passes through the spectacular Black Rock Gorge.
