Buie or Buidhe, a loch on the mutual border of Criech and Dornoch parishes, SE Sutherland, 7½ miles NNE of Bonar-Bridge station. Lying 527 feet above sea-level, it is 1¼ mile long by ¼ broad, contains good trout, and is gained by salmon by means of a remarkable ladder on the Carnach river.
