Earn, a rivulet of SE Renfrewshire, rising at the boundary with Ayrshire, and running 6 miles north-eastward along the mutual border of Eaglesham and Mearns parishes to the White Cart, at a point 2 miles N of Eaglesham village. Professor Wilson, while a pupil at the manse of Mearns, fished often in its waters; and Pollok, the author of the Course of Time, spent a large portion of his few years on earth among its sequestered banks and braes.Ord.
