Parish of Kildonan Kildonan is a coastal parish, which lies in Highland Council Area, some 13 miles (21 km) northwest of Helmsdale and 22 miles (36 km) northeast of Lairg in Highland.It is located in the old county of Sutherland, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.The parish has an area of 558.9 sq. km (215.8 sq. miles).
