Cluny is a parish, which lies in Aberdeenshire Council Area, some 9 miles (14 km) southwest of Inverurie and 9 miles (15 km) north of Banchory in Aberdeenshire.
It is located in the old county of Aberdeenshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.
The parish has an area of 40.7 sq. km (15.7 sq. miles). Cluny has 7 neighbouring parishes; namely Echt, Kemnay, Kincardine O'Neil, Midmar, Monymusk, Skene and Tough. The boundaries of this parish were modified among significant changes recommended by the Boundary Commissioners after the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889.
