Parish of Stobo Stobo is a parish, which lies in the Scottish Borders Council Area, some 6 miles (9 km) west of Peebles in the Scottish Borders and 14 miles (23 km) south of Penicuik in Midlothian.It is located in the old county of Peeblesshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.The parish has an area of 41.9 sq. km (16.1 sq. miles). Stobo has 7 neighbouring parishes; namely Broughton Glenholm & Kilbucho, Drumelzier, Kirkurd, Lyne, Manor, Newlands and Peebles.
