Political correspondent. Born in Italy, the daughter of a Scottish textile executive, Kuenssberg grew up in the Kelvinside district of Glasgow, where she attended Laurel Bank School. She read history at the University of Edinburgh and trained in journalism in the USA. She joined the BBC in 2000 and became a political correspondent in 2003, appearing on programmes including Daily Politics and the Today programme, BBC Breakfast and the News at Ten. She rose to become the BBC¿s chief political correspondent in 2009 before moving to become business editor for ITV News in 2011. She was appointed the BBC's first female Political Editor in 2015 and now lives in London.
