Curler. Born in Edinburgh, the younger sister of another successful curler, Kay Adams (b. 1987), Chalmers was educated at the University of the West of Scotland. Having gained gold medals at the World Junior Championships of 2008, 2009 and 2011 with Eve Muirhead (b.1990), Adams was part of a team including Muirhead, Claire Hamilton (b.1989) and Anna Sloan (b.1991) which went to win a gold medal at the Curling World Championships in Riga (2013), a bronze medal at the Sochi Olympics of 2014 and then a further bronze at the World Championships in Beijing (2017). Chalmers has also had considerable success in the European Championships. To permit training, she split her time between homes in Stranraer and Stirling but announced retirement from competitive curling in 2019.
