Actress and screen-writer. Born in Cumbernauld, the younger sister of comedian Craig Ferguson (b. 1962), she was educated at Cumbernauld High School and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. She went on to write and present the children's programme Megamag for BBC Scotland (1994-96). For BBC Radio 4 she wrote and starred in the sitcom Millport (2000-02), contributed to Woman's Hour and took part in the panel game Just a Minute. Ferguson also starred in the film Chicken Run (2000), and she has written for the theatre as well as columns for various newspapers and magazines.
She lives in Los Angeles (California) with her husband Mark Tweddle.
