A small reservoir impound by an earth embankment dam in Orkney, Stromness Reservoir (also known as Yelda Reservoir) is located a half-mile (0.8 km) northeast of Outertown and 1¼ miles (2 km) northwest of Stromness, which it supplies with drinking-water. Opened in 1967, it is now operated by Scottish Water.
