Katie (KT) Tunstall

1975 -

Singer and song-writer. Born in Edinburgh, Tunstall was raised in St. Andrews, the adopted daughter of a physics lecturer and a primary school teacher. She was educated at Madras College and Dundee High School. She began playing music at a young age and had learned the guitar and was writing her own songs as a teenager.

Tunstall began her career with local bands in the East Neuk of Fife but has developed into a popular artist at concert venues around Britain, including Glastonbury and T-in-the-Park. Her debut album Eye To The Telescope (2004) sold more than half-a-million copies and was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in 2005. It included the successful singles Other Side Of The World, Black Horse & The Cherry Tree and Suddenly I See.
