The Lochailort Inn at Lochailort

A settlement with a railway station on the West Highland Line, Lochailort is located at the head of Loch Ailort, 10½ miles (17 km) southeast of Mallaig. There has been an inn here since at least the mid-17th century and the small whitewashed Roman Catholic church of Our Lady of the Braes (1874) is a notable landmark. Fish farming provides an important contribution to the local economy.
