Kelloholm

Dumfries and Galloway

A settlement adjacent to Kirkconnel in Nithsdale, Dumfries and Galloway, Kelloholm was created in 1921 as a model village to house miners. Expanded after the Second World War, its main industry is now a meat-processing plant. The settlement benefits from a primary school (opened 1925, with a roll now exceeding 200 pupils), community learning centre and Hillview Leisure Centre. The confluence of the Kello Water with the River Nith lies immediately to the northeast.
