Sudheim

(Sodom)
Shetland

A location on the Shetland island of Whalsay, situated between the port of Symbister and the Loch of Huxter. Derived from the Old Norse for 'south home' this place-name has been anglicised to Sodom in more recent times. The poet Christopher Grieve (Hugh MacDiarmid) lived here from 1933 to 1942
