Where Loch Linnhe is pinched to form the Corran Narrows to the south of Fort William in Lochaber, S Highland Council Area, a vehicle ferry crosses to the small settlement of Corran on the Ardgour peninsula which here forms the western shore of the loch. The settlement was once known as Ardgour, with the Ardgour Hotel being the principal building.
