A location in Stirling Council Area, Ardchullarie More is situated on the east side of Loch Lubnaig, 5 miles (8 km) northwest of Callander. A house here was the retreat of the African explorer James Bruce of Kinnaird (1730 - 1794) while he was writing an account of his journey in 1768 to the source of the Blue Nile which he mistakenly believed to be the source of the main Nile. His 'Travels to Discover the Source of the Nile' was published in Edinburgh in 1790.
