A hamlet on the eastern shore of Loch Gairloch in Wester Ross, Charlestown lies 1¼ miles (2 km) south southeast of the settlement of Gairloch. It benefits from a post office, hotel, small recreational harbour and is the location of Gairloch Golf Club. Flowerdale House lies a quarter-mile (0.5 km) to the east northeast, dates from 1738 and is the seat of the Mackenzies of Gairloch.
