Parish of West Linton

West Linton is a parish, which lies in the Scottish Borders Council Area, some 8 miles (12 km) southwest of Penicuik in Midlothian and 11 miles (17 km) southeast of Livingston in West Lothian.

It is located in the old county of Peeblesshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 94.4 sq. km (36.4 sq. miles). West Linton has 8 neighbouring parishes; namely Currie, Dolphinton, Dunsyre, Kirkurd, Mid Calder, Newlands, Penicuik and West Calder.
