Parish of AvondaleAvondale is a parish, which lies in South Lanarkshire Council Area, some 10 miles (15 km) south of East Kilbride and 10 miles (17 km) south of Hamilton in South Lanarkshire.
It is located in the old county of Lanarkshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.
The parish has an area of 152.3 sq. km (58.8 sq. miles). Avondale has 8 neighbouring parishes; namely East Kilbride, Galston, Glassford, Lesmahagow, Loudoun, Muirkirk, Sorn and Stonehouse.
