Blairingone

A village in southern Perth and Kinross close to the border with Clackmannanshire, Blairingone straddles the A99 trunk road from Kinross to the Kincardine Bridge. It developed as a single street mining village in the 19th Century and has a primary school and church (1838). The earls of Tullibardine are said to have had a family seat near here on a site known as the Palace Brae. Open cast mining still exists nearby.
