Public Housing, Eastfield

A local government area to the east of Glasgow in central Scotland, North Lanarkshire extends southwards from the Kilsyth Hills to the River Clyde and has an area of 47,648 ha. It is bounded by South Lanarkshire, Glasgow, Falkirk, East Dunbartonshire, Stirling and West Lothian and its chief towns are Airdrie, Coatbridge, Cumbernauld, Kilsyth, Motherwell, Shotts and Wishaw. Formerly with coal mining, engineering and steel industries, its modern industries are linked to the rest of Europe via the Eurocentral freight facility at Mossend. Places of interest include Drumpellier Country Park and Summerlee Heritage Trust in Coatbridge and Palacerigg Country Park, Cumbernauld.
