Fraoch Eilean

The easternmost of a group of three small flat-lying finger-like drying islands which lie next to each other off the west coast of Luing, in the Inner Hebrides, Fraoch Eilean (or 'heather island') is located a half-mile (1 km) southwest of the settlement of Cullipool. The channel between Fraoch Eilean and Eilean Loisgte has been dammed to create one of the largest lobster ponds in Scotland, providing an important local industry. There is no permanent settlement on the island.

Another smaller Fraoch Eilean lies a half-mile (1 km) to the south southwest.
