A sheltered but shallow anchorage within the Sound of Harris in the Outer Hebrides, The Basin lies between the islands of Opsay, Sarstay and Fuam na h-Ola, 2 miles (3 km) north northeast of North Uist, and is further protected by a series of islets and rocks.
