River Ba

(Abhainn Ba, River Bà)

A meandering river in the Lochaber district of S Highland Council Area, the Ba (Gael: Abhainn Ba) rises as headstreams emanating from corries on Aonach Mor and Clach Leathad to the south of Glen Etive and flows eastwards onto Rannoch Moor, passing through Loch Buidhe, Lochan na Stainge and Loch Ba. It falls into the head of Loch Laidon which straddles the border between Highland Council Area and Perth and Kinross. The Ordnance Survey map uses the English name in its upper reaches, while the Gaelic name is used for the section between Loch Ba and Loch Laidon.
