A stream which rises as field drains to the southwest of Buistonhead in North Ayrshire, the Garrier Burn forms the boundary with East Ayrshire for the majority of its 7-mile / 11-km course. It meanders to the southwest, passing to the northwest of Kilmaurs, around Springside and under the A71 Trunk Road to fall into the River Irvine a quarter-mile (0.4 km) west northwest of Newhouse.
