River Tummel River Tummel at Pitlochry©2022 Gazetteer for Scotland A dam release river of Perth and Kinross, the Tummel flows from Loch Rannoch at Kinloch Rannoch in an easterly direction and passes through the Tay Forest Park and Dunalastair Reservoir and Loch Tummel before turning southeastward. As it passes through the Linn of Tummel and the Falls of Tummel waterfalls the river is joined by the River Garry and then passes into Loch Faskally. Emerging from the loch to the southwest of Pitlochry, the Tummel flows southeastward to merge with the River Tay a mile (2 km) to the south of Ballinluig.
