Glen Shiel

A valley of the Skye and Lochalsh district of Highland Council Area, Glen Shiel carries the waters of the River Shiel northwesterly to Shiel Bridge and the head of Loch Duich. The main west coast route, the A87, passes through the glen. At the head of Glen Shiel lies the site of a 1710 Jacobite battle.
