Rochomie Reservoir

A former little reservoir on the course of the Burn of Bogfud in NE Moray, Rochomie Reservoir is located a half-mile (0.8 km) northeast of Drybridge and 2 miles (3 km) southeast of Buckie. Built in 1908 by Buckie Town Council for the supply of drinking-water, it is now the property of Scottish Water. Having been impounded by an earth embankment dam, the reservoir was fell from use in 2000 and was drained in 2009. The waterworks below was retained and upgraded at the cost of £1.5 million. It now draws water from a series of boreholes.
