The Houb

A freshwater loch within the bounds of Sullom Voe Oil Terminal in the north of the Shetland Mainland, The Houb lies 3 miles (5 km) west of Mossbank. It was once a semi-enclosed brackish lagoon at the head of Orka Voe, much of which was infilled to construct the oil terminal. It now seems to serve as a water-storage reservoir.
