Dinnet Bridge

A single-span reinforced-concrete bridge in Aberdeenshire, the Dinnet Bridge crosses the River Dee a half-mile (0.8 km) south southwest of the settlement of Dinnet. It was designed by F. A. MacDonald and Sons of Glasgow to replace an earlier bridge and was built by W. Tawse Ltd. of Aberdeen. It has been described as a particularly striking and unusual monumental Art Deco bridge, and is certainly one of only two similar designs in Scotland, the other being at Hatton of Fintray. Given this description, the structure was B-listed in 2006. A time capsule was discovered during refurbishment in 2006. The letter and coins it contained were passed to a local museum.
