A small district of Livingston in West Lothian, Carmondean lies between Deans and Knightsridge, immediately to the north of Livingston North Railway Station. It is dominated by the Carmondean Centre, which provides shops, a post office, a library and other local facilities. To the north, where it merges with Nether Dechmont, is Carmondean Community Centre, Carmondean Primary School and Nursery School, with the predominance of housing being terraces of grey-harled two-storey homes, while to the west is St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church and housing in the form of maisonettes, with communal car-parking. Livingston Ability Centre (2001) gives work experience to those with a physical disability.
