Carraig Mhor


(Carraig Mhòr)

A small rocky headland on the east coast of the island of Islay (Argyll and Bute), Carraig Mhor lies a quarter-mile (0.5 km) south southeast of Dunlossit House and faces across the Sound of Islay to Jura. The little Carraig Mhor Lighthouse is situated here. There are two other headlands with the same name on the east coast of Islay; 8 miles (13 km) to the south southeast and 11 miles (18 km) to the south southeast.
