Briggers Memorial (South)

Located on the Esplanade in South Queensferry, this is the southerly of a pair of identical monuments which commemorate the men and boys who died building the Forth Bridge. Briggers Memorial (North) is located in North Queensferry. Both bronze structures stand 2.1m (7 feet) in height and were unveiled by First Minister Alex Salmond in 2012, at the completion of the ten-year restoration of the bridge. The inscription states "To the Briggers, past and present, who built, restored and continue to maintain this iconic structure" and the monument records the names and roles of the 73 bridge-builders (known as briggers) who perished, a list assembled by local historians.

Another Forth Bridge Memorial is located outside the Rail Bridge Cafe-Bistro just 50m to the southwest.
