A residential district within Inverness, Wimberley lies between Millburn Academy and Raigmore Hospital, a mile (1.5 km) east southeast of the city centre. The area was constructed as military housing, particularly married quarters associated with Cameron Barracks which lies immediately to the north. Ths street names remember notable victories of the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders, who were based at the Barracks; namely Alamein Drive, Anzio Road, Burma Court, Marne Road, Rhine Drive, Sicily Road, Somme Crescent and Tobruk Road. Some of the properties have been sold by the Ministry of Defence into private hands.
