Irish Law

A hill in North Ayrshire, Irish Law rises to 484m (1588 feet), 3½ miles (5.5 km) east of Largs. Its summit is marked by an Ordnance Survey triangulation pillar. A Vickers Viking aircraft operated by British European Airways crashed close to the summit in 1948. The 16 passengers and 4 crew all survived despite the aircraft exploding shortly after impact. Parts of the wreckage remain on the site.
