The parish has an area of 45.4 sq. km (17.5 sq. miles). Beith has 7 neighbouring parishes; namely Dalry, Dunlop, Kilbirnie, Kilwinning, Lochwinnoch, Neilston and Stewarton. The boundaries of this parish were modified among significant changes recommended by the Boundary Commissioners after the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889.
