Champion bowler. Living in Ardrossan (North Ayrshire), Miller is a member of Saltcoats Bowling Club. At the age of 75, he set the record as the oldest-ever winner of a Commonwealth Games gold medal when he served as director to visually-impaired athlete Melanie Innes in the mixed pairs bowling at the Birmingham Games of 2022.
