Longforgan Post Office

A village in a parish of the same name in the Carse of Gowrie, southeast Perth and Kinross, Longforgan lies 5 miles (8 km) west of Dundee. It was created a burgh of barony in 1672 and developed in association with Castle Huntly to the southwest. Longforgan Station once lay a mile (1.6 km) to the south but closed in 1956, although a level-crossing remains here on the Dundee and Perth Railway. Longforgan is home to best-selling author Rosamunde Pilcher (b.1924) and a street is named in her honour.
