Sandend

Aberdeenshire

Located in Aberdeenshire, the village of Sandend lies 3 miles (5 km) west of Portsoy on one of the most popular sandy beaches in the area. Settlements here date back to the early 17th Century, although the harbour is of 19th century origin. Fishing has left the village but fish processing is still undertaken here. West of the village lies Logie Head and Sunnyside Bay. Findlater Castle lies to the west of the village.
