A location and agricultural settlement in the Formartine district of Aberdeenshire, Ythsie comprises the farms of North Ythsie, South Ythsie, Little Ythsie and Milltown of Ythsie, all of which lie to the east of Tarves. On the Hill of Ythsie stands a folly known as the Prop of Ythsie, built in 1862 to commemorate the 4th Earl of Aberdeen, a Prime Minister during the Crimean War.
