Parish of BlantyreBlantyre is a small parish, which lies on the River Clyde in South Lanarkshire Council Area, some 3 miles (4 km) west of Hamilton and 3 miles (5 km) northeast of East Kilbride in South Lanarkshire.
It is located in the old county of Lanarkshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.
The parish has an area of 16 sq. km (6.2 sq. miles). Blantyre has 4 neighbouring parishes; namely Cambuslang, East Kilbride, Glassford and Hamilton.
