Extended Information
The estate had a particularly fine walled kitchen garden, established to the northwest of the house in late 1870s. Beyond was an enormous range of glasshouses within which fruit and flowers were grown. Having fallen from use by the 1970s, restoration of what became known as the Lost Garden of Penicuik began in 2012.
