Daugh of Edinvillie

An upland tract of Central Moray, the Daugh of Edinvillie lies 1¼ miles (2 km) east of Milltown of Edinvillie, 2 miles (3 km) southeast of Aberlour and 2½ miles (4 km) west of Dufftown. The unusual word daugh comes from the term davoch which is an old Scots areal unit of land. It appears exclusively in place-names lying in a small area centred on the Aberdeenshire-Moray border.
