Lugton Water

The Lugton Water is a river primarily of the Cunninghame district of Ayrshire. It rises in Loch Libo in East Renfrewshire and quickly becomes the boundary between that Council Area and East Ayrshire. Flowing southwest to Lugton, it becomes the boundary between East Ayrshire and North Ayrshire. The river continues in the same direction between Burnhouse and Dunlop to reach Montgreenan, where the boundary between the Council Areas turns east and the river continues through the post-industrial landscape around Fergushill. Finally it meanders through Eglinton Country Park to join the River Garnock on the southern edge of Kilwinning, having completed a course of 15 miles (24 km).
